Captain Reed Astley is retiring from the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) after starting his career with the legacy Auburn Fire Department in 2004. He was promoted to the rank of captain in 2017. Throughout his career, he served on the Medical Program Specialist team and contributed to the South King County Fire Training Consortium. He held multiple leadership positions with IAFF Local 1352 and the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters. One of his significant achievements was advocating for a sensory-inclusive program, making services more accessible to individuals with sensory needs.
