Job Golla, an intern in the Seattle Human Services Department (HSD), is currently working on the Seattle Youth Employment Program (SYEP). A recent graduate of the University of Washington Bothell with a degree in media and communication studies, Job joined HSD to enhance his skills and gain valuable experience. His responsibilities include outreach and promotion of the SYEP, showcasing key events and the contributions of fellow interns. Throughout his internship, Job has developed skills in adaptability, problem-solving, and embracing challenges, aiming to amplify community stories. He advises future HSD interns to keep an open mind, ask questions, and fully engage with their experiences. Additionally, Job has expressed an interest in pursuing photography as a future skill. The SYEP offers internships to 250 youth and young adults aged 16 to 24 each summer, placing them in various nonprofit organizations and city departments while providing minimum wage compensation.
