American Corporate Partners (ACP) offers free, year-long mentorships to Veterans and military spouses to enhance their job search. Participants are paired with mentors from top companies, leading to significant salary increases. Army National Guard Major Jared Hendler shared his success story, stating he doubled his salary after working with his ACP mentor and secured a managerial position at a global company.
Protégés typically see an average salary increase of over $40,000, along with personalized résumé and interview assistance, boosted confidence, and improved job satisfaction. The mentorship program is available to transitioning service members, post-9/11 Veterans, active-duty military spouses, Gold Star spouses, and spouses of recently transitioned Veterans.
Hendler noted the professionalism of ACP staff, who matched him with a mentor quickly after he applied. Similarly, Army Veteran Shameka Howell found a new job that paid $20,000 more than her previous role, crediting her mentor’s networking advice for her success.
To get started, interested individuals can apply on ACP’s website, where they will answer questions about their career goals and experience. Mentors are encouraged to volunteer an hour a month to support Veterans and military spouses in achieving career success.
