Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit that supports military families, has received a $7.5 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. This funding aims to help the organization double its impact by 2030, enhancing its ability to assist military and veteran families in becoming stronger and more resilient. The grant will finance 14 initiatives focused on key areas such as programs, branding, revenue, personnel, and digital transformation, ensuring long-term growth and sustainability.
Rear Admiral (ret.) Alan Reyes, CEO of Operation Homefront, emphasized the need to support military families facing increasing challenges. Since its inception in 2002, the organization has aided tens of thousands of families through various support programs, including the Critical Financial Assistance Program®, which has provided over $47 million in aid. Operation Homefront also offers rent-free and mortgage-free housing options, contributing to the overall well-being of military families.
The $7.5 million grant is part of 18 approved grants from Lilly Endowment Inc. aimed at strengthening military and veteran service organizations across the United States. This initiative aligns with the Endowment’s mission to honor and support those who serve in the military by improving their lives and those of their families.
