Operation Homefront has received a $7.5 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to enhance its efforts in supporting military and veteran families. This funding aims to help the nonprofit double its impact by 2030 through 14 capacity-building initiatives focused on various areas, including programs, branding, revenue, staffing, and digital transformation. Rear Admiral (ret.) Alan Reyes, CEO of Operation Homefront, emphasized the growing challenges faced by military families and the importance of this investment in expanding their services. Since its inception in 2002, Operation Homefront has assisted tens of thousands of families each year, providing vital support through programs like its Critical Financial Assistance Program®, which has addressed over 60,000 assistance requests totaling more than $47 million. The organization also offers rent-free and mortgage-free housing options, aiming to improve the financial, emotional, and social well-being of military families. The grant is part of Lilly Endowment’s commitment to strengthen military and veterans service organizations, furthering its mission to support those who serve in the military and their families.
