Happy New Year! The Sno-Valley Senior Center reflects on a successful year with 506 members, a 10% increase from last year. The center hosted over 26,300 visits, averaging 110 per day, and served more than 10,500 meals, along with delivering 2,293 frozen Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors. Volunteer contributions totaled over 11,800 hours from 216 individuals. Looking to 2026, the center plans to modernize or replace its elevator with support from a King County grant, which may lead to construction-related closures. They are also updating their kitchen thanks to a grant from the Boeing Employees Community Fund. Members are encouraged to vote on the 2026 Board Ballot before the Annual Member meeting on January 28 at 12:30 p.m. New state sales tax regulations will affect paid classes, memberships, and rentals starting January 1, 2026. The center is working to keep programs accessible and will continue advocating for non-profit exemptions. Donations are still welcome to support community connections and programs. The Board of Directors holds public meetings every other month, with the next meeting on January 5 at 5:30 p.m. For questions, contact Executive Director Kira Avery.
