The Washington State Department of Commerce’s Multifamily Housing Unit is seeking input from the affordable housing community regarding a new funding opportunity. This initiative aims to enhance access to funding for capital projects related to affordable multifamily housing. The community includes current and future developers, service providers, tenants, neighbors, tribes, and advocates. In the 2025-27 Capital Budget, funds have been allocated to provide grants for preconstruction activities and technical assistance for organizations to improve their competitiveness in future funding rounds. A draft Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) has been created to outline application requirements, timelines, and review factors. Members of the affordable housing community are encouraged to review and comment on the draft NOFA. Feedback can be sent via email and is due by 5:00 p.m. on February 4, 2026.
