Seattle Parks and Recreation is set to reopen the Magnolia Community Center on January 10, 2026, following extensive renovations. The celebration will begin at 11 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tours of the updated facility, and light refreshments until 1 p.m. Community members are encouraged to attend to learn about the center’s upgrades and share input on future programming.

The renovation project, funded by the Seattle Park District and Real-Estate Excise Tax at a cost of $6.2 million, focused on enhancing the center’s lifespan and programming capabilities. Key improvements include a new wheelchair lift for better accessibility, roof replacement, structural enhancements, a new gym floor, and upgraded windows for better heating and cooling. Additional renovations feature a remodeled reception area, kitchen, and restrooms, as well as electrical and ventilation upgrades.

These enhancements aim to create a safe, functional, and welcoming space for all generations in the community. Seattle Parks and Recreation looks forward to reconnecting with the Magnolia community and gathering feedback for future activities.
