To qualify for this and other health care travel reimbursements, veterans must meet specific criteria, including traveling for treatment of a service-connected condition, receiving a VA pension, having an income below the maximum VA pension rate, being unable to afford travel, or attending a scheduled VA claim exam, getting a service dog, or receiving VA-approved transplant care.
