The Washington State Department of Health has issued a notice of intent to deny a licensing application for Pathway to Purpose, LLC, a behavioral health agency located in Tacoma. The decision was made due to the facility’s failure to comply with state regulations regarding agency licensure. Initially applying for licensure at one address, the facility later amended its application to a different location. Upon inspection, the department found that the new address was an AirBnB, which raised concerns about its legitimacy. The facility stated it would stop operating as an AirBnB, but subsequent visits revealed discrepancies between the facility’s interior pictures and its reported location. As the facility has not provided a clear physical address, the licensing application has been denied. Pathway to Purpose has 28 days to respond to the notice. The Department of Health is committed to ensuring the safety and quality of health care in Washington and will provide updates as necessary.
