Shoreline College has established a guaranteed transfer admission agreement with Western Washington University, providing students a clear pathway to obtain a bachelor’s degree. The partnership ensures that Shoreline students who complete a transfer degree are guaranteed admission to Western. To qualify, students must earn either an Associate in Arts – Direct Transfer Agreement (AA-DTA) or an Associate in Science – Transfer (AS-T) degree, maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, and achieve at least a 2.0 GPA in their final quarter before applying. Those admitted through this program will enter Western as juniors and may receive direct admission into nearly 30 academic majors, though some may have additional requirements. The $70 application fee for Shoreline students will be waived to promote access. The agreement aims to simplify the transfer process and improve support for students, with academic advisors from both institutions working together to align course selections with students’ intended majors. The partnership reflects a commitment to enhancing educational opportunities in the region, as stated by the presidents of both colleges.
