The Washington Department of Ecology is offering the Zero Emission School Bus and Fleet Transition Grant Program for 2025-2027, providing approximately $15 million in funding. School bus owners transporting K-12 students overseen by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction can apply for zero-emission school bus projects. Additionally, cities, counties, Tribes, public utility districts, transit authorities, and nonprofit organizations can apply for vocational training projects. Applications are due by April 23, 2026, at 4 p.m.
The Washington Department of Transportation is also accepting applications for the Regional Mobility Grant, aimed at cities, counties, ports, public transit agencies, and regional planning organizations. This grant focuses on various projects, including electric vehicle charging equipment, although projects for single-occupancy vehicle chargers are not eligible. Approximately $62.6 million is available for the 2025-2027 biennium, with future funding levels to be determined in the 2027 legislative session.
