The Miles for Meso 5K will take place on July 4, 2026, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Federal Way Community Center, located at 876 South 333rd Street, Federal Way, WA. This annual event, now in its eleventh year, honors individuals who have lost their lives to mesothelioma, a cancer linked to asbestos exposure. Participants will run or walk a scenic 5K course along the BPA Trail and through Celebration Park, with views of Mount Rainier. The event aims to raise $20,000 for the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation through registration fees and donations. Attendees should be aware that road closures will begin at 8:30 a.m., and parking access will be restricted until 10:30 a.m. The awards ceremony and silent auction will start at 10:45 a.m. Community members, families, and supporters of mesothelioma awareness are encouraged to participate.
