Shanon Ehmke Reedy has been appointed the permanent dean of Communication Studies and Social Sciences at Shoreline Community College. With more than 25 years of experience in higher education, Ehmke Reedy has held leadership and teaching positions at various institutions, including Black Hawk Community College, National Louis University, and Bellevue College. She has taught social science courses for over a decade at Roosevelt University and recently taught Marketing Research II at Bellevue College.

Ehmke Reedy has also contributed to statewide educational initiatives through her involvement with the Dean’s Academy and as a founding member of the Baccalaureate Leadership Council. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Kansas and a Master of Science in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Illinois State University. Her focus is on developing innovative educational programs that provide opportunities for community college baccalaureate degrees and workforce-driven associate degrees. She is dedicated to advancing marketing strategies that enhance outreach and engagement and creating inclusive programming for diverse learners.

Ehmke Reedy expressed her enthusiasm for collaborating with faculty and shaping the future of the division to prioritize student success. Outside her professional life, she enjoys various family activities, including skiing and bowling.
