Shoreline Community College has appointed Tsai-En Cheng as the new dean of Career and Technical Education (CTE) in STEM, effective Sept. 1, 2025. Cheng brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in higher education and workforce development, recognized for her student-centered and equity-driven approach. Previously, she served as dean of branch locations for academic and program development and interim dean of instruction at Green River College, overseeing a range of credit and noncredit programs. Under her leadership, programs in cybersecurity, aviation, software development, and nursing were expanded to meet regional workforce demands.

As a first-generation college student and immigrant, Cheng is committed to improving access and innovation in education. Her initiatives include bridging English language learners into technical careers and developing aerospace education programs with local universities. Cheng has also held various community leadership roles, including serving on the Economic Development Council and the Baccalaureate Leadership Council.

Cheng expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with faculty, students, and community partners to enhance educational pathways and empower students for future careers. Her diverse background includes ESL instruction, curriculum design, and international teacher training. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities and community service projects.
