Adult fares for King County Metro buses, Metro Flex, Seattle Streetcar lines, and King County Water Taxi routes will increase on Sept. 1, 2025. The new adult fare will be $3, aligning with Sound Transit’s flat fare. The Metro Vanpool/Transit pass will rise from $99 to $108. This marks the first adult fare increase for Metro buses since 2018.
Details of the fare changes include:
- Metro bus/Metro Flex adult fare: from $2.75 to $3.
- Seattle Streetcar adult fare: from $2.25 to $3.
- West Seattle Water Taxi adult ORCA fare: from $5 to $5.25; adult cash fare: from $5.75 to $6.25.
- Vashon Water Taxi adult ORCA fare: from $5.75 to $6; adult cash fare: from $6.75 to $7.
- ORCA LIFT fares will also be adjusted.
Riders are encouraged to update their ORCA card settings before the fare change. Reduced fares remain the same for seniors, disabled individuals, youth, and those using ORCA LIFT. Youth 18 and under can ride free and should obtain a free Youth ORCA card. For questions, Metro customer service is available weekdays.
