Last month, Solid Ground organized a Day of Service in Seattle, where hundreds of volunteers came together to enhance community spaces and support those in need. Participants included families, individuals, and corporate groups who dedicated their Friday to various activities, such as cleaning parks, weeding and harvesting in the Giving Garden at Marra Farm, and maintaining the fleet of ACCESS paratransit buses. The volunteers made a significant impact, harvesting more than 200 pounds of produce, cleaning 27 buses, and spreading mulch across the sites. This event aimed to foster connections within the community and demonstrate the collective power to enact change, especially during challenging times. In addition to the Day of Service, Solid Ground encourages ongoing support through volunteering and monthly contributions, emphasizing that every effort helps create opportunities for families striving for stability in Seattle and King County. The initiative reflects Solid Ground’s commitment to building a stronger, more joyful community while addressing poverty and supporting individuals moving beyond homelessness.
