A study examined the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on families, youth, and childcare providers, focusing on stress, mental health, and coping strategies. Researchers gathered perspectives through surveys and interviews with parents of children under 18, childcare providers, and youth aged 12 to 17. The study aimed to understand the relationship between individual coping mechanisms, family functioning, and vaccine attitudes. Data collection occurred from August 2022 to August 2023, involving 506 adults and 93 youths, with 45 adults and 21 youths participating in in-depth interviews. The adult sample was predominantly female, with a mean age of 42.8 years, while the youth sample had a mean age of 14.5 years. Results will help identify diverse experiences and needs during and after the pandemic, guiding effective public health policies and communication strategies. The research emphasizes the importance of understanding family dynamics and the adaptation to policies and mandates during this challenging period. Data analysis is ongoing, and findings will inform future public health messaging and resource development.
