Many child care providers are committed to continuous learning to enhance their services for children and families. BrightSpark supports this development through individualized coaching and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). These provider-led meetings, open to all child care providers enrolled in Early Achievers, focus on reflective conversations about best practices and child development, fostering community and collaboration among participants. Monthly PLCs are available in multiple languages, including Arabic, English, Somali, and Spanish.

Each month, PLCs tackle different topics chosen by participants, covering areas such as family communication, social-emotional support, and curriculum development. Facilitators, supported by BrightSpark coaches, guide discussions that prioritize reflection over traditional training.

Jamileh Almasoud leads the Arabic PLC, which has been active since 2020, attracting about 30 participants monthly from the Puget Sound region. Participant Maiy Abouzied, director of Early Beginners Daycare, notes that the PLCs have significantly improved her understanding of caring for children with special needs and their emotions. She emphasizes the community-building aspect of PLCs, sharing insights and resources with her network, ultimately aiming to provide the best care for the children and families she serves.
