December at the North Parking Lot Christmas Tree Lot has been filled with joy and community spirit. Each tree purchased supports El Centro de la Raza’s programs, benefiting over 22,000 individuals annually. The lot buzzed with families, children, neighbors, and volunteers celebrating the season together. The Lita-Rosita Food Cart provided delicious tamales, enhancing the festive atmosphere.

On December 12, the Las Posadas & Christmas Market at Plaza Roberto Maestas offered a magical evening of culture and joy. The event featured a UW Drama performance inspired by Frida Kahlo, the Calaca Clown Show, and music from the José Martí All-Star Singers. Community members enjoyed a vibrant market and connected with local artisans.

El Centro de la Raza partnered with #TheGivingMachineSeattle to encourage holiday donations via the #LightTheWorld Giving Machines, ensuring all contributions support local organizations directly.

The Annual Toy Drive is crucial this year as rising costs impact families. El Centro is collecting new, unwrapped toys for children ages 0–17 until December 14 at various drop-off locations. This initiative aims to ensure every child feels supported and celebrated during the holidays.
