The WA INCLUDE community session on Special Education in Washington State is scheduled for January 9, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM PT via Zoom. The event, sponsored by the Complex Behavior ECHO, will feature Dr. Tania May, Assistant Superintendent of Special Education for the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. Dr. May has over 30 years of experience in special education, focusing on inclusive practices, co-teaching, multilingual support, and behavioral strategies in various educational settings. She holds a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Washington Tacoma, a master’s in special education from San Francisco State University, and a bachelor’s in political economy from the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, she is a parent of an autistic teenager. The session aims to enhance collaboration among schools, community partners, families, and students to improve outcomes for students with disabilities across the state.
