The Seattle Public Library is hosting a variety of free events in January and February 2026, featuring authors and community activities. The ZAPP Zine Collection will have open hours on Saturdays, allowing visitors to browse and create zines. Amber Flame, a guest curator, will kick off the series “We Belong Together” on Jan. 25, discussing collective care and sustainable practices. Author Bill Thorness will explore memory and war in his book on Jan. 28, while a celebration of the 60th anniversary of “Dark Shadows” occurs on Feb. 5, featuring a live reading and author Q&A. Miz Floes will present “Royalty Revisited” on Feb. 19, blending spoken word and theater. Amber Flame’s “Meet Cute at the Library” event on Feb. 22 will focus on love poetry, and Michiko Aoyama will discuss her novel “Hot Chocolate on Thursday” on Feb. 25. Finally, Coll Thrush will speak about his book “Wrecked: Unsettling Histories from the Graveyard of the Pacific” on Feb. 26. Registration is required for many events, which are supported by The Seattle Public Library Foundation and the Gary and Connie Kunis Foundation.
