Compass Housing Alliance and Lutheran Community Services Northwest (LCSNW) have officially merged as of January 1, marking the completion of a partnership that has developed over the past seven years. The merger unites Compass as a division of LCSNW, allowing both organizations to enhance their services in affordable housing, emergency assistance, and shelters. This collaboration aims to provide holistic support to communities by combining LCSNW’s health and human services with Compass’s expertise.

Leadership emphasized that the merger is built on shared values of compassion, justice, and hope, positioning both organizations for a stronger future. Compass will continue its mission and identity while expanding its capacity to address regional housing needs. The legacy of founders Rev. Otto and Alva Karlstrom, who believed in caring for the whole person, remains central to the merged entity’s goals. Supporters are encouraged to stay engaged as the organization plans to unveil new initiatives that further its commitment to the community. President Christopher Ross expressed gratitude to supporters, highlighting their vital role in shaping the future of the organization.
