This recorded webinar offers 1.5 CDE credits and focuses on Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), which are non-medical factors influencing health outcomes. Factors like birthplace, living conditions, work environment, and aging significantly affect overall health and well-being. The course aims to define SDOH, explain their impact on physical and mental health, and highlight the roles of healthcare organizations, policymakers, and community partners in addressing these determinants.

Alicia Tieder, MSW, LICSW, and Vice President for Organizational Learning, Patient & Family Experience, and Health Outcomes at Seattle Children’s Hospital, presents the course. Tieder has a background as a Clinical Social Worker and focuses on improving systems to eliminate barriers to quality care while enhancing staff work experiences. She has led initiatives to improve patient outcomes, care quality, and workforce engagement since joining Seattle Children’s in 2015. Tieder emphasizes the importance of system-level change through quality improvement, operational excellence, and collaborative leadership to ensure optimal patient care. The Arcora Foundation is recognized by ADA CERP for continuing dental education, although it does not endorse specific courses or instructors.
