The Washington State Department of Commerce will hold virtual listening sessions on February 17 and 19 to gather input on its Rapid Capital Housing Acquisition program. This initiative aims to support the acquisition of properties for quick conversion to aid people experiencing homelessness. The sessions are targeted at affordable housing developers and Housing Trust Fund contractors who have used or intend to use the program’s funding.
Session 1 is scheduled for February 17 from 9 to 10 a.m. PT, and Session 2 will take place on February 19 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. PT. Both sessions will be recorded, and transcripts will be made available on the Commerce website. Live translation services can be arranged upon request by emailing Analilia Núñez by February 10.
Participants are encouraged to share their experiences and feedback on various topics, including transparency in funding notices, project prioritization, funding balance, and perceived barriers to accessing funds. For questions, attendees can contact HTFApp@commerce.wa.gov.
