For over 40 years, Catholic Community Services (CCS) has supported immigrant and refugee communities in Western Washington. Their Catholic Immigration Legal Services (CILS) offers affordable legal help, serving over 50,000 low-income individuals from more than 90 countries since 1979. In 2024, CILS helped over 1,100 people navigate complex immigration issues.

Amid rising fears and confusion about immigration, CILS remains a trusted resource. Requests for support surged by 50% from January to October 2025, highlighting the urgent need for assistance. CCS has partnered with the City of Seattle to launch an Immigrant Rapid Response Program, connecting immigrants to vital resources. They also provide Know Your Rights workshops and Family Safety Planning sessions to prepare families for potential immigration challenges.

CILS focuses on keeping families together, assisting those with mixed immigration status, and providing ongoing support. The organization also connects clients to healthcare, job opportunities, and education resources. Despite uncertainties in U.S. immigration, CILS is dedicated to being a reliable partner for immigrants and refugees, ensuring they know, “We are here for you.”
