Families looking for activities during winter break can enjoy a variety of events at The Seattle Public Library. The library will host board game bashes, crafternoons, maker events, and early New Year’s parties, alongside regular story times and family programming. Library locations are open for exploring children’s books and toys, accessing free printing, and getting assistance from staff. All events are free, and registration is not required unless specified.

Key events include Winter Break Make & Build on Dec. 23 at Northgate Branch, a mini canvas and watercolor craft session at Lake City Branch, and a magic show featuring Louie Foxx at South Park Branch on Dec. 27. A Winter Celebration will take place on Dec. 29 at Southwest Branch, while board games will be available at Broadview Branch that same day. Families can participate in a reading party at Beacon Hill Branch on Dec. 30 and various craft events leading up to New Year’s celebrations on Dec. 31 at multiple locations. The “Nuestra Euforia / Our Euphoria” exhibit will run through Jan. 10 at Central Library, showcasing the trans and gender non-conforming community. All library branches will be closed on Dec. 24, 25, and Jan. 1, 2026.
