As the Room for All capital campaign nears completion, the Rainier Valley Food Bank (RVFB) highlights its co-chairs, Jennifer Worth and Calandra Childers, for their leadership and dedication. Worth has been a part of RVFB for over a decade, starting as a volunteer in 2012. She later joined the board and became a co-chair, playing a crucial role in organizing fundraising efforts. Worth believes food is central to community and identity, and she emphasizes the importance of access to culturally relevant food.
Childers joined RVFB in 2016 after witnessing the need for food assistance in the community. With a background in arts funding, she has contributed her storytelling talents to help promote the food bank’s mission. As a co-chair, Childers actively shares information about RVFB and advocates for addressing food insecurity. She expresses pride in the new Community Food Hub, which enhances the capacity to serve the community and tackle the root causes of hunger. Both co-chairs are committed to strengthening community bonds through their work at RVFB.
